The Dress Reveal

Without further ado...here's Gia in The Dress. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I was SHOCKED that she chose #2, which was my original favorite.
I even tested her to make sure I wasn't somehow swaying her opinion. I showed her the dresses 2 separate times (over the course of a few days) and BOTH times she chose this one. She would have looked just perfect in any of the choices, but I must say I'm glad she chose this one.

The Christmas Dress!

So I posted here about Gia's infamous Christmas dress.
 
To recap--each year I buy her a special Christmas dress from Nordstrom. This year I bought a few and decided to let her choose. Here are the 3 options:

#1 -- Nordstrom

#2 -- Nordstrom

#3 -- Lord & Taylor

I have always loved the black one (#2), but when Gia's favorite arrived (#3), I was smitten. The pictures don't do it justice. It's so girly and pretty and I found myself really rooting for it.  (For what it's worth, my husband felt the same way.)

The solid velvet one (#1) is pretty, but just not my favorite. It was a  total impulse buy. I was at Nordstrom and couldn't find the black one in the store (I'd seen it online prior to going in) so I panicked, thinking I wasn't going to be able to get her anything. It's a pretty, unique color and I knew it would be comfortable for Gia to be in on Christmas. (I want her to look adorable, but also be somewhat comfortable. She's going to want to run around and play with all her new loot that day!)

So, onto the choosing.

I brought all 3 out and showed them to Gia.  I laid them on the couch. I fanned their skirts, making each one look pretty and equally desirable. Then I told my sweet little girl to pick one. 

Which one did she choose?!

We're getting a new look!

I've been dying to tell you this for a few weeks now, but I was keeping it a secret until the perfect time... The Quinntessential Mommy is getting a new look!

The fabulous Cristina, from PixieDustStudios, designed a brand spankin' new blog for me and she did an amazing job. She (patiently) listened to all my ideas and made a bunch of changes so that this blog reflects not only my personal style, but the feel I wanted the blog to have.

Within the next few days we'll be transitioning over to the new look. And, I have some awesome posts coming up. From Gia's Christmas dress choice, to the unveiling of our Christmas card, to my new favorite cookie recipe, I've been busy prepping posts. I've held off on posting them though, because they'll look some much prettier in the new space (and we all know how much I love me something pretty).
